Lala Neck Beach

Lala Nek gives access to 5 vehicles, but no permit is required. Lala Nek is perfect for snorkeling at low tide and you will find the Gugulesizwe Cultural Village just outside Lala Nek. Also enjoy coastal forest birding and surf fishing.
Directions: Please allow 2 to 3 hours travelling time from Shayamoya.
Take the N2 South for 25km, turn left to Jozini, the road climbs up the Lebombo Mountains to the town of Jozini. Take the left fork outside of town that leads over the Jozini Dam wall to Kosi Bay. After about 39kms on a tar road you come to a
T-Junction, turn right. Continue for 42kms until you reach a traffic circle this is known as Phelindaba. You will see a green & white sign reading “R22 Mbazwana 45, Hluhluwe 126” to the right, there is also a brown signboard with white writing indicating “Coastal Forest 61kms” to the right. – TURN RIGHT HERE. Continue on this tar road for about 15kms from the traffic circle going straight over a 2nd traffic circle until you see a brown tourism sign with white writing “Manzengwenya & Coastal Forest Reserve”. There is also a Brown & White “Info Lapa” signboard – Turn left here onto a gravel road. You will pass Coastal Cashews on your Right Hand side. Follow the blue ad white signs to Rocktail Bay until you reach the Reserve entrance gate at Manzengwenya. There are KZN Wildlife offices on the hill to the left, go and check in here. Then continue on a sandy track for about 10km to Lala Nek.
