uMahlabuyalingana Tourism

UMhlabuyalingana is a nickname that refers to an area which slope is flat. It was formerly known as Maputaland. The area is in the northern part of South Africa, KwaZulu-Natal Province, with part of it being tucked in between Swaziland, and Mozambique including the endless white beaches of the warm Indian Ocean coast. It is a magical place of shimmering lakes, forests, bushes, and pristine seashore. Manguzi and Mbazwana Towns present vibrant & colourful African villages. Experience a mid-night Turtle nesting tour between November and February each year. During this season, it is when the leatherback and loggerhead turtles come back to lay their eggs every year after crossing the oceans. It becomes an unforgettable experience to witness a giant leatherback which is nearly 2 metres in length or loggerhead turtle as they perform such a miracle

Hippo Roaming/ Viewing around Sibaya Lake &Lake Shengeza

Be cautious but don’t wonder as Hippos roam freely along the coast, especially around Sibaya Lake. If you’re lucky, you might observe a hippo frolicking in the ocean/ lake especially, Lake Shengeza.
